Sound Healing

Individual and Group Sound Healing Sessions available

I am pleased to be able to offer individual and group sessions. The structure of the sessions are very similar, however during individual sessions I am able to focus on a single client’s personal needs and specific outcomes. Both individual and group sound healing sessions can be a very powerful tool for healing.

Group Sound Meditation/Sound Bath

Announcements, as to dates, times and location,  for group sessions will be on my Facebook page. I will also mail out upcoming sessions, if you’d like to be on my mailing list please e-mail me.

These sound sessions are usually 1 hour and 15 minutes and do not include an assessment of the  energy system/chakras as is incorporated in a crystal healing/chakra balancing session, which are 2  hours and 30 minutes in duration.

A sound healing/sound meditation session is  ideal for:

  • a “tune up” , clearing & energizing your subtle bodies, such as your chakras and aura.
  • to de-stress and  introduce calmness

Crystal Healing/Chakra Balancing & Sound

Sound is another medium for vibrational or energy healing. I incorporate sound within my crystal healing/chakra balancing sessions, although the main component is the use of crystals. Crystals on their own are very powerful healing tools, so is the use of sound. By combining the energy of the crystals and sound  both mediums work synergistically and can be a powerful tool in particular for  stubborn energy blockages. I always incorporate my clear quartz crystal signing bowls during the crystal healing/chakra balancing sessions and may also use selection of one or more sound instrument, depending on the client’s needs at the time.

Meditation music

A very simple method to enhance relaxation and a meditative state is to softly play music. And something you can do yourself

Gongs

Some describe the  gong as an instrument of god. For thousands of years the gong has been considered magical by many different civilisations. Historically the gong has been used to heal he sick, eradicate evil spirits  summon the elements and much more. I first experienced the gong during one of my kundalini yoga classes and have been in awe of it ever since, it was during this first experience I decided that I wanted to learn how to “play” the gong and use it within my energy healing practice. The gong is the main feature during the sound meditation/sound bath sessions.

Tuning Forks

  • During chakra balancing/crystal healing sessions – clearing stubborn blockages
  • For space clearing, during home & business energy clearings, in order to clear negative/unwanted     energies
  • During reflexology sessions in order to stimulate important trigger points, such as those corresponding to the pituitary gland and others, or on certain points and areas corresponding to existing medical issues and pain
  • To enhance relaxation

Tibetan singing bowls

  • During chakra balancing/crystal healing sessions – clearing stubborn blockages. The signing bowl(s) is placed on the body at certain chakra points
  • During chakra balancing/crystal healing sessions – to enhance mediation/relaxation
  • For space clearing, during home & business energy clearings

Clear Quartz Crystal singing bowls

  • During chakra balancing/crystal healing sessions. These are not placed on the body. The crystal bowls are tuned to the frequencies of the individual chakras and have a powerful sound. The vibrations can balance, unblock, harmonise, heal, calm or energize the chakras, aura and the entire energetic system
  • The crystal bowls can also aid to deepen meditation, relaxation and inducing a feeling of joy.

Chinese Wind Gong

  • Helps to focus during meditation
  • Cleansing the aura

Koshi Chimes

  • I have a set of four Koshi chimes, one of each element: Earth, Air, Fire and Water they have a beautiful ethereal sound and are particularity suitable for children and adults alike
  • Eight chords are welded with silver into the metal plate at the base of the resonance tube. Precise tuning creates a play of clear tones that is rich in overtones. The overtones of the shorter chords gradually dominate and become fundamentals, thus forming a circular tone range.

Peter Hesse Assam Singing Bowls

  • The Assam singing bowls are named after the area from which their original flat shape comes. It is characterized by a pure, long-lasting, open tone.
  • These cast and polished bowls are particularly suitable for meditation, as well as for the head area in sound massage.
  • I have available a set of 3 Assam bowls

Hand Drum – Native American Style

  • I often use my drum at the beginning of a session to clear the aura, it is also an excellent tool to enhance grounding
  • “Loud sounds” like that of a drum are ideal for space clearing to rid an area of negative vibrations. I feel the drum also aids in connecting to earth energies.

Ocean Drum

  • This drum mimics the sound of the ocean

Rattle – Native American Style

  • This Rattle is excellent for clearing  negative energies. I use it for space clearing, but it can also be used on a person for clearing the aura or negative attachments.
  • It can also be used to summons one’s ancestors

How Sound Healing works

Sound healing essentially works like all other healing modalities that fall under the umbrella of vibrational or energy healing.  Energy healing has been practiced by many ancient cultures and peoples for millennia in order to restore the balance and flow of energy throughout the body, mind, and soul. Energy healing addresses disturbance of the energy flow in the body, aims to restore the flow and recreate equilibrium in the body, this aids in maintaining health and can help enormously in healing physical, psychological, mental and spiritual illness. Sound can shift frequencies from low energy of guilt and fear to higher vibrations of love and joy. Sound healing is the use of sacred instruments or voice to release energetic blockages inducing a state of ease and harmony in the body. There are many types of sound therapy, but all of them produce vibrations that alter your brain waves.

Mr. Malbert a Hong Kong-based Crystal Bowl and Gong Master, says vibrations are especially useful for healing the body. “The adult body is 75% water, and water is a great conductor for sound vibration,” he notes. “When vibrations travel through the body, they promote circulation, energy flow, and rejuvenation. The frequency of the sound synchronizes with the brainwaves and activates de–stress responses in the body.”

Benefits

  • It was discovered that those who listen to music feel less pain and experiences less anxiety than those who don’t.
  • A study in the 1970s proposed that when one tone is played to one ear, and a different tone is played to the other, the two hemispheres of the brain connect and create a third (internal) tone called Binaural beats these synchronize the brain, providing clarity, alertness, and greater concentration. It’s solid evidence that our brains and bodies respond to sound in both a cognitive and physical way.
  • Sounds and songs also elicit memories retrieval, and this can be used to help patients who are traumatized or depressed.
  • Used in sound healing therapy, singing bowls are believed to calm and repair the mind as well as reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, improve breathing and circulation, alleviate aches and pains, strengthen the immune system, and improve the mood of the patient.
  • Tuning fork therapy puts our body-soul dynamic back in sync using calibrated tuning forks that are applied to specific points on the body. Picture this as being similar to acupuncture without the pins. These forks will apply specific vibrations to certain areas of the body, which is said to release tension and open blocked energy. This type of healing with sound brings emotional balance and pain relief.
  • Tibetan Singing Bowls; dating back as far as the 12th century, singing bowls have been used throughout Asia for meditation, ritual, and ceremonial purposes. The sound produced by these metallic bowls is quite similar to a gong or a bell.
